The EU-funded Project was presented at the World Agrivoltaics 2024 Conference, which took place on the 11th – 13th of June at Denver, Colorado, USA.
REGACE research partner, Andrea Volterrani and Marco Serra from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, presented a paper detailing the ongoing research activities within Work Package 6 (WP6) of the REGACE Project.
Their paper, entitled ‘Transforming Perceived Risk and Fostering Cooperative Engagement with Agri-photovoltaics Technology among Farmers in Five Countries: A Sociological Perspective from the REGACE Project’.
The paper, co-authored by Antonucci, Serra, and Volterrani, was featured in the Social Sciences session on June 12th of the world Conference.
The presentation disseminated preliminary findings derived from extensive qualitative methodologies including in-depth interviews, focus groups, and world cafés, undertaken within the framework of the REGACE Project.
These findings emphasized the critical importance of incorporating the dimensions of social sustainability in the advancement of novel technologies, with specific reference to Agri-photovoltaics.
Earlier this year, Volterrani and Serra, presented the project to a group of twelve Italian farmers during the first World Café event taking place on February 7th, at Fattoria Solidale del Circeo in Italy. The event includes a demonstration of experimental agrivoltaic modules installed at the farm of REGACE partner, Dr. Berardo di Stefano.
